The Key Factor

Designer, former client and friend, Emily Factor debuted her spring collection last night in a chic downtown gallery with some of LA's most fashionable to view. The installation was minimal with hints of nature: i.e tree stumps for the nymph-like models to perch on, geodes and stones under trees with little lights that created a pixie like habitation encompassed by stark gallery walls. The mood complemented the light weight fabric of the silks and cottons and displayed Emily's one of a kind fabrics that she is so well known for, both digital and by hand. It's hipster edge was complemented with heritage artisan accessory brand, Alex & Lee who was also debuting their beautiful collection as well. Both collections felt very "vintage revival" both by design and also by the styling, which was modern and edgy. The jewelry was heavy and bold while the clothing was light and effortless creating a perfect yin and yang for this evening. It didn't hurt that it was 800 degrees last night; I wanted to shed my denim and wool ensemble and run out the door in the ruffled chiffon frock that breathed so beautifully. All and all the night was lovely, and displayed real talent and hard work, but don't take my word for it,  have a look for yourself. enjoy!
